Alstom to supply equipment for Chinese nuclear power plants

Alstom, in partnership with Shaanxi Diesel Heavy Industry, has secured a contract to supply emergency diesel generators (EDGs) for the Tianwan nuclear power plant in China.

The company will supply five EDGs for the units 5 and 6 of the power plant in Jiangsu.

Alstom has also won contracts to supply gas stripping and evaporation unit equipments for the Ningde, Fangchenggang, Yangjiang, Fuqing and Tianwan nuclear power plants in China.

The contracts, worth about EUR40m in total, were signed with CNPE, the EPC contracting arm of the China National Nuclear Corp, and with CNPEC, the EPC contracting arm of China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corp, respectively.

The projects’ equipment will mostly be manufactured in China by Alstom Wuhan Engineering and Technology.
