Another impasse at the UN climate talks

After 11 days of talks, climate negotiators at the UN climate conference in Qatar still have not agreed on climate financing and emissions cuts. The two issues are the sticking points of this year’s talks as poor nations ask the developed world to make good on their pledges for climate aid, and amid the looming expiration of the first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol. UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) chief Christiana Figueres has expressed her frustration over the fact that climate actions are still very far from what is required by scientific studies.
