China gets serious about offshore energy resources

China’s State Oceanic Administration announced on Wednesday it would develop one hundred marine economy projects in 30 pilot zones in the Shandong Province by the end of 2015. The projects will involve the sustainable use of marine resources like wind, seawater and the tides. Shandong province also has a 12.6 GW offshore wind project in the pipeline for six areas by 2030.
