China is global wind market leader in 2011

China topped the global wind market in 2011, said a new research published by Global Data. China, accordingly, controlled 59 per cent of the world wind energy market, installing three times as many wind rotor blades on its wind farms compared to its closest rival, the US. The National Energy Bureau of China had recently forecast that the country’s wind capacity will exceed 60 GW by the end of 2012. By June, China wind installations had a capacity of 52.58 GW, making it the third largest power source of the country. Many of China’s wind companies, however, also suffered setbacks on their installations this year due to grid-access issues.
