China’s largest offshore wind farm launches in Jiangsu

The largest offshore wind project in Jiangsu in China is now fully operational. Longyuan Power’s 150MW inter-tidal wind farm with 20 Goldwind 2.5MW turbines, has the capacity to produce 374 million kwh of electricity per year. The final 50MW was completed by Longyuan last September. The first 100MW was connected at the end of 2011. Longyuan Power said the construction of the 150MW wind farm sets a significant precedent to other Chinese companies on how to evaluate, plan and develop their offshore wind resources.
