Iskandar Malaysia now attracting investors

Initial developments in the planned eco-city Iskandar Malaysia are driving more investor interest in the area. UEM Land Bhd Managing Director Datuk Wan Abdullah Wan Ibrahim said investors were skeptical of the project at first but after seeing the completion of some catalytic developments in the first six years of Iskandar Malaysia, they started coming in. Wan Abdullah said some of the investors in the eco-city are Malaysians working in Singapore, or are Singaporeans who are keen on buying world-class developments, while some are Singaporeans investing on weekend homes, expatriates, and mainly Indonesians who want to live nearer the Asian financial hub Singapore.
