Lynas protesters lose case

Malaysian activists have lost their bid to stall the opening of a rare earth refinery in their community after months of organised protests. Owned by Australian mining firm Lynas, the refinery is now free to begin operations under a temporary operating license. Opponents of the plant say the company does not have an adequate plan to dispose of any radioactive waste that may result from operations.
