Nordex stops China blade operations, slash jobs

German wind turbine company Nordex will be suspending production of blades in its Chinese factory in Dongying and slashing 130 jobs. Nordex said the production capacity of its Dongying factory has been declining and  that it has sustained losses in the country. The job cuts are expected by the end of the month. According to Nordex, it will be using external suppliers for its rotor blade requirements until demand in the sector recovers. Nordex has said previously that it was affected by predatory competition from domestic players in China.
