PV Power gets loan from Ocean Bank, HSBC for wind power project

PV Power, a unit of state-run PetroVietnam, said Friday that it has signed an agreement for a syndicated loan from Vietnam’s Ocean Bank and HSBC Holdings PLC (HBC) to build a wind-power plant in central Vietnam.

The company didn’t specify the size of the loan. State-controlled Vietnam News Agency said Friday that it totals VND400 billion ($19 million).

The loan is for building the Phu Quy Wind Power Plant in southeastern Binh Thuan province, PV Power said in a statement.

The plant will have an initial capacity of 6 megawatts, it said.
