Samsung investigates child labour accusations

South Korean electronics giant Samsung has increased audits of its suppliers’ factories after human rights group China Labor Watch accused some of the firm’s Chinese suppliers of using under-age workers. Last month, the NGO had alleged that undercover investigators at a factory owned by manufacturer HEG found that the majority of workers during school holidays were under 18. Samsung said on-going audits of its 249 suppliers had found several labour issues - such as excessive overtime hours - but not illegal use of child labour.
