Turkish businessman to invest up to $2.5 billion in East Java, Indonesia

Indonesian news report about an investment by a Turkish group that is planning to invest up to $2.5 billion into geothermal power development at Mount Bromo in East Java.

The Turkish businessman, Emin Hitay is further said to plan additional projects as well as two other regions in East Java, at Mount Lamongan in Probolinggo and Raung in Banyuwangi, so East Java Governor Soekarwo after a visit by the Turkish group.

Hintay through PT Hintay Renewable Energy chose Java as a location for development. Soekarwo claimed to have received permission from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Wacik for exploration. The investment by the Turkish group is expected to bring investments of up to $2.5 billion dollar to the region.
