Vulnerable island-nations demand climate insurance

The Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), who are most vulnerable to rising ocean levels, have for an insurance program that will protect them against climate change-related damages. This as calls mount for richer nations to generate funds for the committed $100 billion a year in climate aid. The bloc of 43 island-nations are seeking for a mechanism that will compensate them for extreme climate events, erosion and drought.
