Wind energy forecasted for Japan in five years

A 500-MW offshore wind power project is in the works in Japan in the next five years. The project will be developed by Kajima Corp and the engineering unit of Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp.. The two firms have combined their expertise in a study for the design and construction of offshore wind turbines. Japan has been trying to venture out into other sources of energy since the Fukushima disaster in 2011.
