A proposed wind farm in the Upper Lachlan Shire has divided the community.
One hundred and forty groups or individuals have made submissions on the proposed Collector wind farm.
Of the submissions, almost half objected to the development, while more than 50 were in support.
The 350 million dollar development would see up to 80 turbines built, south west of Goulburn.
The roads and maritime services has opposed widening sections of the Hume Highway to transport oversized loads to the site, saying it isn’t necessary.
While the Upper Lachlan Shire Council has objected to the proposal, its asking for turbines within two kilometres of properties be deleted.
But, New South Wales Health says proposed monitoring and regulation for turbines near houses is adequate.
It says the application appears to comprehensively addresses any potential public health issues.
The Office of Environment and Heritage has raised concerns that the Collector Wind Farm will lead to permanent losses in the box-gum woodland.
In its submission to the Department of Planning it says while some rehabilitation would be possible, it does not believe it will not be enough to restore the habitat.
The office says it has previously raised the issues in a review of a draft environmental assessment of the project.
The Clean Energy Council is among the groups that are backing the development.
