Alfa Laval’s innovative technologies presented at TSCC 25 years

Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – is one of the official partners of the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce events at CentralWorld, Eden 1, Thailand.

From October 24 to 26, the company will showcase innovative technologies that help people around the world, and specifically Thailand, by creating better everyday conditions within the area of energy, environment and food.

“Alfa Laval was established in Thailand in 1983, a century after it was founded in Sweden in 1883 with the invention of the world’s first milk and cream separator. As key manufacturer of the three key technologies - heat transfer, separation and fluid-handling, we help in industrial processes that are crucial for society, helping our customers optimize their processes to reduce energy use, protect the environment, and make food and pharmaceutical production safer,” says Koray Chong, Managing Director of Alfa Laval Thailand.

Celebrating its 31st anniversary this year in Thailand, Alfa Laval in Thailand provides equipment and services used to heat, cool, separate and transport products including oil, water, chemicals, beverages, foodstuffs, starch and pharmaceuticals.

“Our vision to create better everyday conditions for people everywhere, has encouraged us to constantly develop innovative solutions to food, environment and energy,” says Chong, “CentralWorld, the venue of the event, is a brilliant example of Alfa Laval’s innovation for sustainability.”

In tall buildings like CentralWorld, Bangkok, the static head creates a pressure that may exceed what the chiller condenser or room air conditioners can handle. Alfa Laval plate heat exchanger will then split the circuit in order to keep the pressure at an acceptable level. There are 3 units of MX25, Alfa Laval gasketed plate heat exchangers, as pressure interceptors in CentralWorld Bangkok to help protect chillers and air condition units from excessive pressure – enabling the building to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature while maximizing energy efficiency and sustainability.

Another 3 units of M15-B, Alfa Laval gasketed plate heat exchangers are installed in CentralWorld as condenser protector, which create an indirect system as an intermediate heat exchanger to protect the vulnerable condensers from corrosion-causing chlorides fouling impurities and biological activities in the water, so that the condensers need less maintenance and have longer lifespan.

A real-life gasketed plate heat exchanger will be displayed in Alfa Laval booth, which is located at Eden 1, CentralWorld, booth No. A3.

“We see this Swedish trade event organized by Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce as an excellent opportunity to introduce what we do in Alfa Laval to and further strengthen our position in Thailand”, summarizes Koray Chong.
