The Government of India has set an ambitious target of 40,000MW of grid connected rooftop PV (RTPV) plants during the next five years. These rooftop PV plants will be set up in residential, commercial, industrial, institutional sectors in the country ranging from 1kWp to 500kWp capacity.
The National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), an autonomous R&D Institution under Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government ofIndia, has initiated quality solar training programs under PPP mode in collaboration with selected private training companies and conducted several training program at Chennai.
Under this initiative,NIWE in collaboration with Australian based solar training company Global Sustainable Energy Solutions (GSES) will be organizing a 4-days technical advantage training on “Rooftop PV Systems: Design and Installation”at NIWE Campus, Velachery, Chennai from 15th - 18th February, 2016.
The aim of the training course is to provide industry professionals, PV engineers and individuals wishing to pursue their career in the solar industry, hands-on training on step-by-step design, planning and installation procedure of rooftop PV systems in accordance with international best practices to narrow the skills gap in the sector.
