The event has proven to be both needed and admired by the industry’s players.”

Mr Li Hongbo, General Manager, Beijing B & D Exhibition Co Ltd remarked: “It humbles me to see how highly regarded the Beijing show is to professional buyers. We recorded our best figures to date, as visitor numbers surpassed 2012 figures. Buyers from all areas of the HVAC and sanitation industries have confirmed once again that this is Asia’s most comprehensive offering of HVAC and sanitation solutions.”

Suppliers and decision-making buyers praise the show’s professionalism

For exhibitors, the 2013 Beijing show offered them the chance to promote their products to China’s increasingly discerning market. Buyers across the country are no longer just looking for cost-effective HVAC and sanitation products, but also devices with top-of-the-line quality components. With this knowledge, a number of exhibitors are able to leverage their successful track records in quality to find new business opportunities in the country.

Ariston, an 80-year manufacturer of water heaters and wall-hung boilers has participated at ISH China & CIHE since the inaugural show. Mr Salvatore Serios, CEO of Ariston in China said: “Beijing is an important market to us because it’s where the market started for heating technology in China. The 2013 show was great and had strong representation from quality European brands. I am sure we will be back again.”

Fellow exhibitor, Mr Zhang Jun Ye, General Manager, Anhui Anze Electric Co Ltd noted: “This was our fifth time joining ISH China & CIHE. To me, it is the most professional fair in the HVAC industry. We came to find new customers while networking with old clients, and promote our new products including electrical heat elements and electrical heaters. Visitors were particularly interested in our electrical floor-heating system and heaters.”

Mr Dario Shu, Chief Representative of CALEFFI S.p.A Beijing Office shared: “We believe the show provides a great opportunity for meeting customers from different industries. The market of North China is huge and very important to our business. Particularly, there’s still a lot of room for improvement in central heating across the region, such as the application of cogeneration power plants, heat metering products and energy-conserving products.”

At the fair’s sanitation section, presented products offered a look into the emergence of China’s domestic suppliers on to the international stage. Huida Sanitary Ware Co Ltd, a long-term exhibitor, presented some of the most state-of-the-art sanitary wares throughout its history at the show. Mr Dong Chun Song, Design Director commented: “We participated because ISH China & CIHE is essential and effective for us in promoting our brand and products every year. Our latest innovation, which attracted considerable attention from visitors this year, was our series of intelligent toilets.”

Visitors equally enjoyed their time at the show. Dr Günter Berthold, Managing Director at Worgas Bruciatori Srl in Italy, came to the fair to source domestic components to integrate with his company’s British- and Italian-made gas burners. He expressed: “The show allows me to look for key components to integrate into my products. As a first time visitor, I found the quality and diversity of exhibitors superb. The show has greatly satisfied my goals. I will definitely come back again next year.”

First time visitor, Mr Zhang Jian Hui, Production Technology Engineer, Kailuan Group, attended the fair to gain keen insight on the latest industry developments in HVAC technology. He mentioned: “I found products made of carbon crystal interesting. My main reason for attending the show was to look for energy efficient products, and I discovered some very good potential customers. It is a show that should be visited annually. One can observe key market trends from here.”

Representatives from Brigma, a major distribution firm in Sweden, attended the Beijing show to find new suppliers of sanitation and heating valves. The group was highly impressed by the quality of products domestic suppliers had to offer. Mr David Huang Min Ye, Purchasing Manager highlighted: “The Beijing show has to be the most professional fair for the industry that I have seen so far in China. I found some great companies I will be following up with, and I was very impressed by the range of products available.”

Fringe events provided more opportunities for networking and business development

Fringe programmes have become a key component to the success of ISH China & CIHE. By partnering with industry associations from both China and abroad, the fair is able to offer attendees with informative discussions on the industry’s most current issues. Making its return to the 2013 show was the Sino European HVAC Congress.

Mr Andreas Luecke, CEO, Federal Industrial Association of Germany House, Energy and Environmental Technology (BDH), was the European co-organiser of the Congress. For 2013, the Congress focused on the theme “Discussions on the Concept and Technologies of Green & Energy-saving HVAC applications”. Mr Luecke led a session on the importance of integrating and utilising HVAC products with better efficiency for sustainable growth. He said: “The Congress allows for great intellectual exchange and also provides some very valuable insight to what is going on in China. The attendees to my session were great; they seemed really knowledgeable about the technology and industry.”

The debut of the Sino European Sanitation Congress is another highlight for the 2013 fair. Mr Wang Wei, Secretary-general, China Building Ceramics & Sanitary Ware Association Sanitary Ware Branch, a domestic co-organiser of the Sino European Sanitation Congress, praised the inaugural edition. He noted: “The introduction of this Congress means a lot to the sanitary industry. It provides a communication platform with our European counterparts. Through this channel we can thoroughly understand developments in Europe, while at the same time they can learn about the technology, standards and products currently available in China. I believe that as the Congress becomes a regular event in the industry, it will contribute a lot to the development of China’s sanitation market.”

Mr Jens Wischmann, Managing Director, German Sanitary Industry Association, was a speaker at the Sanitation Congress. He shared:“I came to ISH China & CIHE to talk about the trends in the European market in relation to sanitation equipment and wares. My hope was to give Chinese suppliers and buyers a better understanding of the European market and learn what trends are coming from China. The congress is a great extension of the trade fair for knowledge exchange.”

Another new initiative for the 2013 show was the LOHAS Cocktail Reception. Property developers were invited to meet with a select group of exhibitors to discuss the needs of their respective projects. Mr Guo Ning from Hua Yuan Property Co Ltd, a Purchasing Agent who attended the reception stated: “We came to the show to look for suppliers of gas water heaters and wall-mounted boilers. I am glad to have found potential suppliers for our tender bidding business. I also appreciated the reception for providing a more quiet and casual networking atmosphere for business discussions.”

Ms Wu Lan, Sales Manager at Danfoss (Shanghai) Automatic Controls Co Ltd, an exhibitor at the show was delighted with business opportunities the reception provided. She commented: “The cocktail is definitely a new highlight of the show. It’s a great new way for suppliers to meet directly with buyers. The reception is a valuable opportunity for us to understand the requirements of developers and make relevant recommendations to them.”
