NextGen Auto International China Summit 2013 opens next week

NextGen Auto International China Summit opens next week with a strong line-up of international and domestic speakers

NextGen Auto International China Summit opens next week from 9 – 10 December at the Kerry Hotel in Shanghai’s Pudong district. Entering its second edition, the event features a series of thought-provoking conferences, seminars and forums designed to address key technologies and business directions for China’s automotive industry. The event’s co-organisers, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, China National Automotive Industry Corporation (CNAICO) and the International Cooperation Centre of National Development and Reform Commission, are expecting over 350 delegates to attend from a wide range of specialties involved in automotive technology development.

Commenting on the show, Mr Richard Li, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd shared: “The 2013 edition of NextGen Auto will showcase our continued support for the growth of China’s automotive industry. Automotive technology is at an unprecedented point in China’s history. As the country’s middle class and urbanisation efforts continue to grow, new solutions to automotive technology need to be discovered and applied to ensure sustainable growth. Two major innovations that NextGen Auto will discuss are electric and hybrid vehicles. Whether a delegate is from government, commerce or academia, I believe the summit will provide some invaluable insight and priceless industry contacts.”

One of the key highlights mentioned by Mr Li, electric vehicles, will be presented through the introduction of China’s Formula-E racing team. Commencing from September 2014 to June 2015, the Formula-E championship will feature a series of formula race cars powered exclusively by electric energy. The event will take place across 10 international cities, including Beijing, London and Los Angeles. At NextGen Auto, China’s national racing team officials, including Mr Steven Lu the CEO, will discuss the potential benefits of their vehicle’s technology, and how it can effectively be adapted into commercial passenger vehicles. In addition to this presentation, visitors will have the chance to hear from over 30 influential industry experts from leading automotive production countries, including France, Germany, Malaysia, Sweden and the US. Some of the keynote sessions and their contributing speakers confirmed for 2013 include:

Supplier readiness and the evolving automotive technology landscape
Mr Gary Schkade, General Manager, China SAE International

Priorities for automotive industry development and adoption of energy-efficient vehicles
