New financing models, leveraging public and private investment, and the opportunities presented by the Federal Government’s Clean Energy Future Plan will be addressed by the experts in carbon pricing policy at an upcoming event for the clean energy industry.
The EcoGeneration Clean Energy Seminars will be held on 22 and 23 February in Melbourne and Sydney.
These seminars have an excellent line-up of high-level industry leaders who will be sharing their insights on new plan, with a high level networking function attended by the who’s who of the clean energy industry.
Presenters include Brad Archer, head of the Energy Markets and Renewables Branch in the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, who will present at the seminars in Melbourne and Sydney.
Mr Archer will discuss key developments and progress, including on the Government’s measures for promoting innovation in renewable energy, such as the establishment of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency.
He will also cover the work being undertaken to investigate the merits of a national energy savings initiative. During his presentation, Mr Archer will revisit Treasury modelling to highlight the role that renewables can play in meeting Australia’s emission reduction targets.
Other presentations will inform the industry on how to make the most of opportunities presented by the pricing mechanism, emissions trading and clean energy funding, including analysis of new financing models, how to leverage public and private investment, and interaction with international carbon markets.
Clean Energy Seminar Series manager Lucy Rochlin said “This is a critical time for the clean energy industry. More than ever, established players and new entrants alike are seeking high-quality information and access to influential leaders in the industry. These seminars provide that opportunity.”
“These seminars also offer the vibrant atmosphere that is now synonymous with EcoGen events, with high level networking functions attended by the who’s who of the clean energy industry,” says Ms Rochlin.
Implementation of the Australian Government’s Clean Energy Future plan is in full swing as we move towards the commencement of the carbon pricing mechanism on 1 July 2012.
